In May

In May, Dan and I finally had a quite month

Where we spent most of our time at home catching up on TV shows we love, trying new recipes and watching a movie or two.

Dan had some extra work around at his grandfathers

I got the house reorganised and found us some more storage space in our kitchen

I finally got the bedside tables I had wanted for years

And Betty finally got her voice back

May was a quite month where we got to rest,  now looking forward to making June a little more busy but just as peaceful!

The Day I Lost My Phone

P1060436

For those who know me well, it will come as no surprise for them when I say last night I lost my phone.

The reason that this will come as no surprise is I am well known for miss placing my phone. The reason I am well known is I regularly ask my friends while we are out, can you ring my phone I cannot find it at this moment. They of course sigh, and ring it.

If I am at home alone and I cannot find it. Normally, I send an email to Daniel asking

“Can you please ring my phone as I have lost it again?"

Or

If I know Daniel will be too busy to ring, Facebook becomes my best friend; if a friend is online I will just send them a direct message to ask them to call. If nobody is online a general blast,

“I would really appreciate if someone will call my phone as I have lost it again"

And yes normally someone will help me out. So last night (or early this morning) at my usual 1am bedtime, when I could not find my phone. I was not too concerned. I thought - oh, yeah it just buried in the couch, wrapped up in the blanket, in my pick pocket in my handbag, or in my work shirt pocket. Alas, after many attempts to ring and find my phone. No such luck. It was not in the house. So wearing only a dressing ground, I took Dan's key out to the car to search under the seat, in the glove box and on the back seat but alas it was also not in the car.

This was the moment when I said,

"@#@#, I left it at the petrol station"

Being that it was two in the morning, I went to bed thinking that I had lost my phone for good this time.

Good news: In the morning I went up to the petrol stations, where my phone still was waiting to  be claimed.

On TV: Sons of Anarchy

Sons_of_anarchy_jacket-14288
Yes I am a little late on the band wagon but I have recently started watching Sons of Anarchy. And I love it, maybe just a little too much.  There are many reasons why I should hate this show for example antiquated rules and standards they live by (just look at the way women are treated) and the very masculine nature of the show, but I cannot help but love it.

Sons-of-Anarchy-Jax
If you stick to this show you will fall for one of the guys, the stories will keep you involved and interested, and you will adore the two women.

And what of those women, though you can never say the S.O.N.S is a feminist show, there is a lot of things that you have to give credit for the writers.  The women in this show are strong; they are real humans with full inner lives and complicated problems. The story in the show often explore women’s lives in a way that mainstream media over looks, and character that are usual one dimension such as sex workers are  humanised and give a more in-depth look at.

The stories in this show push the limits in a way that will keep you surprised and it not just for that typically Hollywood shock value, these are really people, and this is their real world. S.O.N.S to me portrays and really opens your eyes to the idea of family and doing anything for them. Their something nice about this idea, that they will do anything to take care of them family. I not condoning violence, but it these old fashion value of looking after your family that society is missing today.

5 for Friday: May 18th 2012

IMG_20120514_114442

1) Spent a lot of this week cutting up wrapping paper from my bridal shower so I can make a little mini album. I just need to get some photos printed and start assembling.

IMG_20120511_192044

2) Some of my favourite moments at the moment are cuddling up on the couch with the boy in the evening to watch our favourite TV shows.

IMG_20120517_145300

3) I hate food shopping but it made slightly more bearable with this one especially when he starts singing, dancing and just being silly in general. Gosh, I love this boy!

4) This year is official the year of the PRICE FAMILY WEDDING as not only did we get married earlier in the year, but now Daniel's Uncle getting married,  Daniel's Cousin, and Daniel's little brother. Four wedding in one year for the one family, it is fantastic.

5) Work finally got around of starting changing my name, actually currently at the work I am known as three different things Erin Price, Erin Sparkes ne Price and Erin Sparkes. I think they are just making sure I get confused who I am, maybe I should stick to Erin Snakes-Pearce, as one friend suggested.
