The Day I Lost My Phone

P1060436

For those who know me well, it will come as no surprise for them when I say last night I lost my phone.

The reason that this will come as no surprise is I am well known for miss placing my phone. The reason I am well known is I regularly ask my friends while we are out, can you ring my phone I cannot find it at this moment. They of course sigh, and ring it.

If I am at home alone and I cannot find it. Normally, I send an email to Daniel asking

“Can you please ring my phone as I have lost it again?"

Or

If I know Daniel will be too busy to ring, Facebook becomes my best friend; if a friend is online I will just send them a direct message to ask them to call. If nobody is online a general blast,

“I would really appreciate if someone will call my phone as I have lost it again"

And yes normally someone will help me out. So last night (or early this morning) at my usual 1am bedtime, when I could not find my phone. I was not too concerned. I thought - oh, yeah it just buried in the couch, wrapped up in the blanket, in my pick pocket in my handbag, or in my work shirt pocket. Alas, after many attempts to ring and find my phone. No such luck. It was not in the house. So wearing only a dressing ground, I took Dan's key out to the car to search under the seat, in the glove box and on the back seat but alas it was also not in the car.

This was the moment when I said,

"@#@#, I left it at the petrol station"

Being that it was two in the morning, I went to bed thinking that I had lost my phone for good this time.

Good news: In the morning I went up to the petrol stations, where my phone still was waiting to  be claimed.

March 21, 2012

It must be March

It must be March, the reason I say this is each March I feel as though I am going through an emotional rollarcoast of ups and downs. This March has been no exception, It began with the departure of a beloved pet, then the high of a wedding and honeymoon and the death of my grandma. Each of these topics I will talk about more later, but I want to talk now about March.

March should be a good month, it should be one of the happiest month of the year, because in March the weather starts to cool from the summer heat, the leaves begin to turn and the boy and I celebrate our anniversary. So I should look forward to March when all these happy things occur but every year i dread it. As soon as Valentines day is over and done with. I start my count down to March with dread, wondering what karma has in stall for me this year and every year without fail something goes wrong last year it was the death of a pet, years before it has been multiple hospital visit, broken down cars and the list goes on and on.

This year as March was quickly approach I decided to let my anxiety around this month go. I decided to let happen what happen, bad things occur everyday to  people and for the most part we just accept it and move forward. So I decided that this March I was just going to enjoy the good and take the bad as it came.

Yes, we are only half way through this month, and there is still two weeks left for things to go wrong but things have already gone wrong, but I survived and I will also survived the next two weeks as well.

Just Breath

This morning did not go to plan, but at every point when something went wrong I said to myself

Just breath.

I said just breath when I could not fit the bridesmaid dresses in the suitcase

I said just breath when i could not find the wedding binder

I said just breath when I did find the wedding binder and everything fell out

I said just breath when the cat sent my suitcase flying

I said just breath when Dan rang and said he was running late

I said just breath when i felt like breaking down and crying

and now when I finally have time to sit

I opened up my daily reflections book to discover today's word, and what was it

I had a little chuckle to myself, I knew I needed to "just focus on my breathing today".

10 Funny Habits and Guilty Pleasures...

Inspired by Elsie Larson

Everyone has silly/embarrassing habits and guilty pleasures, so I thought I would share some here.

1) I almost never answer my phone (it normally buried in my handbag) but I will always  get back to you as soon as I find the dam thing. (I think my poor dad is the most irritated by this, love you Dad...)

2) I am always loosing my keys or leaving them at home, I rely on Daniel to let me in. Thankfully in our almost ten years of being together I  have only been locked out of home twice, once when Daniel locked his keys in the car (hence not my fault) and the other when I left work injured!

3) guilty pleasure music-  Hanson.

4) I love the games on facebook, I am addicted.... yes, I know it is sad and pathetic but I love farmville, and citiville.

5) I sing christmas songs all year round

6) I have silly words for example, sidiot (an idiot sitting down), confuddled ( not confused, not muddled somewhere in between).

7) I talk to my cat like his a really person (thankful he does not answer)

8) I make list every day, without them I am lost! I have been even to know to make list for others! I guess this is why I love listography so much.

9) I need to sleep until 11 at least once a week (normally fridays), if not I am very grumpy for the rest of the week afterwards.

Five Foods

I am not the best cook but i love to cook... Some of my all time favourite foods include

Homemade-pizza

Source

1) Home made Pizza- My favourite is smoked ham, Brie and mushroom... Daniel prefers salami, artichoke, sun-dried tomatoes and blue cheese

2) Salmon, Caper and Spinach Pasta- This recipe came about because i went to my Friend Caroline for dinner. She sort of just threw together stuff she had in her fringe and freezer. When i finally moved to Sydney, i told Dan about how much i loved that meal. So Daniel made a version of it adding Capers and cream. It is extremely Yummy, and every time we have it i think of my dear friend, Caroline.

4) Daniel's and only Daniel's Honey Soy Chicken

April Goals

March's goals did not really go to plan.

I did manage to organise the apartment, and get rid of alot of things that we no longer needed. However, the apartment really needs a deep clean still, i hate to admit it but there are alot of dust bunnie hiding behind our furture atm.

I worked on my personal mission statement, it not quite finish ( i hope to get it done later this month and share it with you)

I read a book, and i will share my review of it soon. I did 20/31 sudoku puzzles not bad really... i am no closer of starting working on brithday cards. Daniel and I had one date night, our anniversary...... however, i am counting our little road trip down to the blow hole as another.

And i defentially bloged more and project 365 fell on the way side ( maybe third time lucky)

So that is how March went, so  my April goals are

  1. Deep clean the apartment
  2. finish my personal mission statement
  3. get my hair cut
  4. Have two date nights
  5. Buy the paint to start working on the kitchen stools
  6. Take four self portarts
  7. Take a family portart
  8. Exercise
