This week was a quite week mainly because the boy has been sick and all he felt like doing was sleeping and making silly faces. But a few significant things happened this week, for example we finally got our internet back online after one whole week without it.
Dan and I have also been having a Nip/Tuck marathon around here the last few days; we finally have reach episodes that neither of us has seen.
Online I have been inspired by the new design of Elsie Larson’s blog, A Beautiful Mess, as well as Amanda Johnson relaunching her blog with a new name and design.
I also recently stumble across these video diary episodes of Lizzie Bennet, who does not love a modern take on a classic.
Next week I am looking forward to being a little busy and get a few more things around here done.

Just pop in to share a LO, I created based on this challenge. I still have not worked out how to take photos of LOs like a pro. I working on it.
For this LO, I used some older paper in my collection as well as photo of Dan from about two years ago. The title Right now, because the journalling which is written on the LO (It was a little to personal to share here and I added it after the photo was taken) talks about what life is like Right now, and my hopes for the future.
On my list of goals or intentions fo this year i stated that i wanted to identify my 100 biggest inspirations, and looking back on this i am not sure what i meant by it, am I talking about people or just things. So I have decided to change it a little, and have decided that I am going to find 100 quotes that insprie me.
Soup No 1: Pea and Ham Soup
Daniel loves pea and ham soup, for the last ten years Daniel has told me every time I buy him canned soup “Make sure it is pea and ham”.
So for our first soup I decided to make it for him, even though I am not a fan. I used a recipe from this cook book.
Ingredients
500g green split peas
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large brown onion, chopped finely
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 ham hock (1kg)
2 medium carrots, chopped finely
2 stalks celery, trimmed, chopped finely
4 fresh thyme springs
2 bay leaves
2 litres (8 cups) water
Serve topped with coarsely chopped mint leaves thinly sliced green onions and greek-style yogurt (I did not do this part)
Review
Pea and Ham soup will never be my favourite soup, however, I have to say this was the best pea and ham soup I have ever had. Dan and I are looking forward to trying this one again, but with a little bit more ham hock, mine weighed under a kilo and I also think next time I will add those mint leaves, green onions and greek-style yogurt, but it was definitely the perfect dinner for a cold winter’s night.
